I recently picked up the complete run of Speedball: The Masked Marvel in the back issue bin of my local comics shop. I see that you wrote the first few issues in this series and thought I would ask you about that experience.

Personally, I enjoyed Speedball a great deal. I'm sure it seemed dated in the late '80s, but to me (and I'm admittedly reading it as an adult), that is a big part of its charm. It hearkens back to the basic goodness found in Marvel Comics during the Silver Age. Simple and quaint, perhaps, but good fun.

What was it like to work with Steve Ditko? How did you approach the character and the comic in general? Any good stories to tell about your short tenure on Speedball?

Thanks, Uncle Rog!
